Guildford Counselling & Psychotherapy

How it works
How do I book an appointment?
Email me at bill@counselling-guildford.com or call me on 01483 561046 and we can discuss a mutually convenient time for an assessment to see if counselling is the right path for you. Or submit your query on my contact page.
How will I know if counselling is right for me?
It is important to feel comfortable and safe with your therapist and an initial meeting will help to establish that. The first session involves an assessment of your situation and how best you can be helped. We also discuss and agree important issues such as a commitment to privacy and confidentiality. We can then agree to meet regularly, once a week, over a period of weeks or months depending on the arrangements you prefer.
How many sessions will I need?
This depends on what your individual needs. Some people find that after a few sessions they have some clarity and focus and are ready to end the counselling. Other people value the ongoing support and relationship and the opportunity to make changes at deep level, and may continue to come for months, or even years. We will work together to establish how long is right for you and we will review your therapy on a regular basis. Sometimes it can be helpful for us to agree mutually in advance when the counselling will end so that we have time to bring things to a close.
How often are the sessions?
Sessions are usually weekly and last for 50 minutes. By mutual agreement, we will arrange a day and time which then becomes your 'personal space' for counselling.
What will it cost?
I charge up to £40 per session, with concessions available in special circumstances.
